Oldness ready for Newness

This is my patio minus the covering. My husband pulled it down cause we're getting a new one built on Monday.

what is surprising is how small the pile is. That all was the patio. there wasn't much to it apparently!

This will be Cruiser's home while the covering's being built. That is a blanket in the corner. This is the side yard by my garden. The only reason he'll be there is cause we both have to work long hours and it would be mean to keep him inside 10 plus hours. Imagine his poor little bladder!
The last freeze froze our smallest shamel ash's leaves. They were tiny fresh baby leaves barely open so they didn't stand a chance. The other Shamel smartly dropped and regrew it's leaves before Christmas so they were hardy. I hope this tree makes it!
Our out of control lemon tree with tons of delicious lemons!
Below is our frozen Grapefruit. the only citrus to freeze for some reason...

Cruiser peaking out from under the kitchen chair. He's tired cause we were outside doing yard work all morning even though he did nothing.

Little by little I see my house looking neater and cleaner. Coming soon within 2 weeks, I'll be working more days at work. Will be tiring, but worth it. I'll write more about that later though.

Yesterday I attempted finally to open our old solar water heater. I failed. Who knew they could built those things pretty near invincible? We then put an add on craigslist and got about 152 phone calls for the dumb thing till someone came and picked it up. found out you could make $10 -$15 off them for scrap. what a steal! I'd spend that much bringing it down to the scrapyard! and apparently people drive all around town to pick these things up so how do they make $ off them with spending so much on gas?

There's some things hard to comprehend in life!

anyways, gotta go finish cleaning! my break's finished!

Eye candy

"The New House" -well almost -it's looking better anyways and livable.
Kitchen and closeup of new sink and new counters- my husband did a pretty good job picking the colors out by himself huh? NOTE: the stove is pulled out from the cabinets cause of a plumming issue behind it so it looks weird- that is not where it's going to be perminately

 the dining room ceiling light
the new bathroom vanity and closeup of the "clean" floor. (I tried) it's all pitted with holes though and looks only somewhat clean. The caulking around the entire bathroom floor and tub will have to be removed for it to look better I think. Right now it looks old, yellowed and stained and impossible to clean. And why do you suppose they put caulking up the sides of the tub? and the walls and the toilet?????? not looking foward to scraping that up....
Notice the new doorhandle box on the floor? We're in the process of installing new door handles on all the doors.
not looking foward to cleaning the toilet and tub. It looks better in the picture. The camara hid most of the grime...
the new closet and bedroom doors of the master bedroom
and the other bedroom.

anyways, that is it. You can view my new quick walk-through video of it at my Youtube Channel "203948tag". the video's called "203948tag: Silent Flip Update". I'm in the process of uploading it right now and it's taking a while to "process" it so I can't link it.

I had a fun day today- we went to Pro's Ranch Market for lunch-MMMMMM and then to Fry's, then to Starbucks to use my $5 giftcard. wierd gift I think- Starbucks? I don't even like coffee. It was from work though. I got green tea. My husband got a carmel Frapachino (how to spell????) Giftcard gone. Whew! It was burning a hole in my wallet with "what am I going to use it for?" We then ate salmon, baked potatoes and veggie sticks for supper.

Anyways, gotta get to bed. I have work tomarrow and am finally getting over my cold! Yeah me! I was so miserable with sleepless nights cause who can sleep propped up on 2 pillows at night just so you can breathe so you don't drown in the mucus drainage pooling in the back of your throat 24/7 and not to mention the sore throat..? anyways, that's probably too much info, but be warned- don't get this cold.

Goodnight! I have a feeling I might sleep well tonight without 2 pillows finally!
Will be writing more often now after this week I hope.
Stay well!

Characteristics:

Light nutty taste, odorless, easy to add to recipes.

Got up before the sun all by myself today

Woke up about 6:05AM went to bed 10:00PM last night so right on schedule. 8 hours.

made myself a wheat bagel with butter for breakfast.

I like the early mornings when I have them to myself! My husband didn't get up till almost 10:30 even though he set his alarm for 9:30. I havn't accomplished much today except unload the dishwasher.

about an hour ago I opened the doors cause the weather is so nice outside only to have my husband close them and turn on the heater a little bit ago... and the dog liked the door open cause he sat there and complained till he got my husband up to let him out.

I always tell my husband he's getting old when he feels cold! :-)

Last night we went out and bought a large glass pitcher and 2 stainless steel water bottles! I think they're pretty.
beautiful! handblown, hand wash only, but I bought it anyway!
Now I have a pitcher! It really is large and only looks small cause of the water bottles. they're taller than your average plastic water bottle.
I love the way lentil greens look! I don't dare eat them cause they're not "sprouts" anymore though so I'm letting them grow out just cause. cause I can. Cause I want them to. If you ever want to eat lentil sprouts, eat them when they have little tails and only a little bit of greens and they're good! they have a strong flavor though so if you don't like them, mix them in a salad, or smoothie, or just eat them in small pinch fulls.

CHIA SEEDS:
put any amount in a bowl,

add twice as much water and stir till all moistened. stir, wait a few minutes,
add same amount more water if desired- I like too cause mine soak up tons! stir.
let sit 20-30 minutes. or eat within 5!
play with it with a spoon and then eat!

I used:
1/4th cup Chia seeds
about 1 cup water

I love how each seed is surrounded by it's own sac of jell! the actual seeds don't touch one another- they look almost as if they repel each other!
I'm in aww of how much they grow in size!

HERE"S THE ACTION!
excuse the sound of my slippered feet as I shuffle to the sink for more water so they don't fall off!

I absolutely love this video for some reason! I had so much fun making it! I love playing with food! I watched it after I uploaded it, and still loved it!
I can't believe how much water those seeds soak up! I even had to go add more water near the end of the video!

Too Full! what was left of my bowl after I got too full:
I couldn't finish the bowl! I'll save it for later! The taste reminds me of cream of wheat. with the texture somewhat like tapioca pudding except it's slightly crunchy like kiwi seeds but softer.
they are fun to play with though cause they pull away from the bowl with no residue and clump together!

Well enough. I'll write sometime later if I feel like it!

LOCKED OUT!

(this took place lastnight)
So it was night. Not a very warm night, but not too cold either. about 8:15 PM. I was happily hauling the garbage out at work, so I did the usual: open door, put kickstand down, pick up garbage bags, walk to garbage... but this time, 4 feet from the door, BAMMMMM!
the wind slammed the door behind me! and I ran to it saying NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO........!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!  It was tramatic.
cause I know that door locks behind you....
then the realization hits. I have no keys to get back inside. I also do not have my car keys or else I would just leave. I also have no cell phone. and even if my husband did just come pick me up, My car would have to stay cause I only have 1 set of car keys.

so I'm turning the knob and hoping this time it didn't.... but it did. it was locked.
I kept saying NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! over and over. then I realize- well, I might as well haul out the garbage. So I do. what else can I do?
keep in mind I was wearing my servers uniform- a white dress shirt and black dress pants.
then I jumped the 20 ft fence (well it was probably 12 ft or so,) and fell on my butt. then I ran to the front door. yup, that door was still locked up. then I ran to the side and jumped that fence into the little courtyard or whatever it is and yup, that one was locked too.

So with fear that I wouldn't be able to get to a phone before someone killed me I ran towards any building with lights on only to realize they were only security lights in buildings till I noticed people leaving an office up ahead, so I ran and sprinted with my legs burning and cramping with overexertion  from climbing fences till I caught up with a van just getting ready to pull out and asked if that building was still open and the lady said "they're just locking up." then I histerically ran to the locked door and knocked and when the lady behing the counter came to unlock, very cautiously peered out at me- my shirt untucked with a large coffee stain where I spilled some ladies old cold cup of coffee I was clearing at my other job, wide and wild histerical eyes, red cheeks from running, wild hair, smelling of onions with sweat from fear pouring down, you name it, and I loudly and breathlessly asked -well pleaded- "can I please use your phone?????????? I'm locked out!!!!!!"
She let me in and let me call. She was an angel. she even wanted me to stay till a key arrived, but I was more comfortable running back to the office and hiding in the back protected by the big safe "un-get-in-able" fence till help arrived. God wanted me to still live to see another day though and my wait was uneventful. And I can't tell you the relief I felt when my husband pulled up with my brother in law's keys. I jumped the fence, and ran to the truck. I wasn't alone anymore. and all my fears and scaredness and loneliness melted away. There was my husband. there's a reason God invented Husbands. They'll come help you even if you get a picker in your toe.

I was able to finish cleaning. when I got home, I was exhausted and had HUGE bags under my eyes from stress.
But I went back there today and washed windows- most of the guys there didn't even notice there was a really cool bird imprint on the window till I showed them. they ohhhhhhhed and ahhhhhed over it and then I washed it off.

that was my night last night, and part of my day today.

I will never be without my keys in my pocket at work ever again.

My newest rage? Chia seeds! we bought some last night! they are so cool! you soak them and they gell up. they remind me of tiny frog eggs the way they look! But ohhh! they taste better then I expected! almost no taste! and the little taste they do have, is pleasant. you eat a little of them and they fill you up and you realize you don't even feel like eating more food! your'e full! I'm always snacking, so this is a good thing. they're also full of omega 3 and lots of other good nutition. and they're so tiny and cute!

anyways, gonna go now.
write more when I feel like it!

I'm Cured

Doctor walks in and says "how's the wrist?" I say "perfectly fine" so he says "ok, I'll write you a note to resume normal activities" That was how he figured out how my wrist was....

Kitchen counters and sink and bathroom vanity are in at the other house. The end may be in sight.

Write more some other time....

203948tag: Tired Puppy

I finally figured out how to connect a video from my YouTube channel to my blog!
Aren't you proud of me?

Now you can see a video that is not one of my best- bad lighting, bad angle, no sense making- anyways, look at it as now I can upload a video that you can see on my blog instead of trying to figure out how to get to my YouTube channel.....

It was really simple actually just click twice, and ta da!
Now I really am computer smart!

We ended up going to construction lots yesterday where they sell lots of stuff for remodeling and we bought a bathroom vanity, counter/sink, and faucet for the new house. I forgot my camara so I couldn't take pictures, but will take some next time I remember my camara! :-)

He really did clean up there! it looks livable! I wouldn't live there for the roaches, but if there weren't any, I wouldn't think twice about camping out there! Well except for the smell............  I'd get awfully cold- I would leave every single window open in the place! :-)  But definetly looks tons better over there!

I didn't accomplish much today. My wrist is 100% better I'm convinced as of yesterday for sure. It got all weird cramped up for some reason, so I took the brace off, and stretched and popped and snapped my wrist all over, and it feels normal now with no pain and I now feel I have a useless weirdo bracelet of some sort on my wrist now. But I'll just have to go throught the motions of an injured wrist for the next 2 days at work cause doctors orders I have to keep it on. I havn't used my wrist at all since the last visit exept a couple of times where I actually used it for something around 5 pounds and it actually hurt each time, so I only used it about 1-2 seconds each time.
Looking foward to Wednesday when I can convince the doctor I am cured."- I'm well! a little angel tapped me with her wand and said go out and play!"- from Bill Cosby- one of the greatest comedians ever invented.

My house is a mess! a Giant MESS! I havn't cleaned in forever! I'm glad there have been no surprise visits! cause they would have taken place at a park or something cause no one's comming in my house! I wish it would burn down.... then I could live in a tent. cause you only need to sweep out a tent and hose it down when it gets dirty....   Yeah right. I need a giant garage sale to sell all my junk is what I need....

I'm getting impatient and grumpy waiting for my house to get finished. It's still on hold. the roach house comes first.

At the new house:
Bathrooms almost complete, kitchen counters coming in about a week, flooring is next, Finding out why the AC won't turn on even though everything is in working order (from my AC fixer husband who used to work on them) It might have an electrical problem with connection to the box. then we get to landscape.

My husband had to go to mow there today cause we got a "friendly" notice from neighborhood services cause about 10 of the 1,983,0056 or so of the weeds are above 6 inches and while they were there, they noticed a pile of building materials illegally placed in the carport and the gate is in "disrepair" -in other words "not attached to fence" Why do we legally need a gate or fence that works beautifully well if the house next door who has a pool (it's empty but still) has no gate even in sight and a big huge gaping hole where one should be didn't even get a notice? how does that work?

The inteligence of city workers is insurmountable.

My husband has an idea of the identity of our "helpful" neighbor who complained- "I think it's that old guy who lives across the street about 1 house down who is always watching me work"  anyways, I wouldn't complain to neighborhood services if I saw the house looked 1,000,000 times better than it did before we started in on it....
I still stick to my saying that "OLD PEOPLE ARE IMPATENT!"
each of them also thinks that they are the only person in the world and the world revolves around them....... I know this cause of where I work.

I hope if I live long, I develop dementia to bring laughter to my caregivers and alzheimers so evertime I turn around, it's a whole new place (kinda like a goldfish in a bowl- everytime they swim around the bowl, it's like entering a whole new fishtank you've never seen before!)

It's fun caring for those types of people. They keep you laughing and laugh right along with you cause they think it's funny too even though they don't know why they're laughing! You just gotta hold your laughter with the serious ones though cause they have words of knowledge like you wouldn't believe that you gotta think about for days to try make sense of and you might not succeed at it cause you come to realize they don't know what they're talking about. ever. even if they really trully believe they're making sense. after the shock wears off that what they said has nothing to do with what you just said, you try come up with something to say that they can respond back with that has nothing to do with what you or they were just talking about, but there is such excitement in their eyes cause they are having a "real" conversation with someone whose actually answering back to them- it's the memory of having a conversation that's still there- not the whole reason for the conversation or the fact it should make sense.

Oh the stories I can go on about. the shells of people forgoten by their families for the caregivers to care for like their own. Some people just don't care about the elderly parts of their family tree.
It's sad really, but when you come to think of it, the only family people these people come to know and the only ones they remember are the caregivers they see everyday. that is their true family if you get what I mean. I know the people I serve there better than their family does cause I know all their most recent likes or dislikes first and who they are now. I also know what sets them off and their personalities.

and I just think. Why do people do this to their loved ones???????? I completely understand if you have no means of caring for them cause you gotta work and can't stay home to watch them or if they might just walk out of the house one night thinking they'll just walk to China to visit and get there in 5 minutes walking distance or ..... each case is different. If they are a danger to themselves, then yes put them in a home. otherwise, do all in your power to care for them! They cared for you when you had no idea what was safe or not and they weathered all kinds of trouble with you and still kept you in their home and loved you no matter what! I feel you can do the same. It is difficult, but why have someone else do your job for you???

OH BOY! How did that start? Why did I go off in a rant about old people? Oh yeah..... neighborhood services....

Sheesh! some people have no life.

anyways, I gotta get in bed cause I'm exhausted and have to get up at 5:45AM to leave by 6AM. it's my 10 minute rush before leaving(I always tend to waste 5 minutes of it trying to convince myself to just get up)
So will write more later and in the meantime, go ahead and watch my video over and over and over cause it's what you've always dreamed of. O'Kay?

Goodnight!

Trisha

Still......

have my wrist brace on... aparently the doctor thinks it's still hurt. I think it's just hurting my wrist because it's making it weaker and weaker cause I can't use it. She gave me some stretching exercizes to do to "keep the muscle up" but what's the point of wearing the brace if I'm going to move it all over to stretch it and practice picking up beans?????? and picking up beans does what????????
I have been informed last night I will be helping my husband at the new house today- doing what with 1 arm I don't know- but I said "are the roaches gone?" he just said "I cleaned it up a bit." He never answered my question.

Mabe if I'm real quiet he'll sleep till tomorow.....

-not looking foward to today......

anyways, I'll write more later if I feel like it. and if we do end up going to the roach house, I'll take some pictures of it's progress........

Trisha.
